Techniques in Addition to Traditional Acupuncture

Electro-Acupuncture

A technique using electrical stimulation of the needle points to increase therapeutic benefits in acupuncture treatments.

Cupping

A therapy designed to stimulate the blood flow and acupuncture points with the use of small glass cups. A vacuum is created under the cup using heat and suction. They may be moved over the affected area or left in place. 

Moxibustion

A treatment used in conjunction with acupuncture, consisting of burning dried Chinese herb called mugwort. It is used to warm acupuncture points to quicken the healing process.

Tui Na

A massage technique that translates as “push grasp” that moves  vital energy in various parts of the body.  It is used to relieve muscle pain, tension, and inflammation and to heal injuries.

Gua Sha

Another deep massage technique used to release muscle tension, tightness, and constriction with a specialized scraping tool to rub over a problem area.
