The distinction that does most of the work is distribution. Someone with mild diabetic neuropathy can also have lumbar stenosis narrowing the canal, or a nerve root irritated by a disc, or feet that have been loading badly for years because sensation changed and gait changed with it. Those layers are mechanical and they are treatable. Removing them will not reverse the neuropathy, but the person walks further and sleeps better, and that is a legitimate outcome to aim at as long as nobody dresses it up as a cure.
Acupuncture is offered at the Newark and Smyrna clinics and is often the most tolerable starting point when a limb is too irritable for anything hands-on. Decompression has a role when the canal or a disc is clearly part of the picture. Do you reverse neuropathy?
We do not sell reversal packages. If a spinal or entrapment driver is present, treating it can change symptoms. Metabolic neuropathy still needs your physician.
Is this the same as sciatica?
Sciatica is a specific nerve-root pattern. Neuropathy is often bilateral, distal, and burning. Location and exam separate them.
What does a stocking-glove pattern mean?
It means symptoms occupy both feet, or both hands, in the shape of a sock or a glove, rather than running in a line down one limb. That distribution does not match any single nerve or nerve root, which is precisely the point: it usually indicates a systemic cause affecting the longest nerves first, not a mechanical pinch. It is the single most useful thing we look at.
Can chiropractic help at all if my neuropathy is diabetic?
Not with the neuropathy itself, and we will not claim otherwise. What frequently coexists with it is a genuinely mechanical problem — a stenotic canal, an irritated nerve root, a foot altered by years of walking differently — and that part is treatable. Improving it can make the whole picture more bearable without touching the underlying cause.
What about the neuropathy programmes advertised elsewhere?
You will see packages combining light therapy, vibration plates, nerve re-education, and supplements sold as reversal, often for several thousand dollars up front. The evidence does not support the claim, the payment structure is the tell, and we do not offer one. If a clinic asks for a large prepayment before an examination, that is your answer.
What should my first step be?
