Acute Injury Chiropractor

Dr. Justin Johnson, D.C.

Dr. Justin Johnson, D.C.

Wilmington chiropractor with a decade of practice in Utah, Pennsylvania, and Delaware, focused on acute injuries and a one-size-does-not-fit-all exam.

Dr. Justin Johnson has practiced for more than a decade, including two years in Utah after Palmer College of Chiropractic in Florida, five years in private practice in Pennsylvania, and Delaware work focused on acute injury patients.

He continues post-doctoral study in personal injury care and spinal MRI interpretation. Patients with headaches, recent injuries, or a history of being rushed through adjustments tend to stay with him.

Outside the clinic he spends time with his son, homebrews, remodels, and explores concerts and craft breweries with his wife, Marina.

One of the most rewarding parts of my job is seeing patients come in at their lowest. By the time they finish care, many are smiling through tears of joy.

Where Justin practises

Justin practises out of a single Pure Wellness office, which keeps your file, your imaging, and your treating doctor in one building rather than spread across the state.

What Justin treats

The complaints with the most reps on this schedule are acute injury; headaches; personal injury. Alongside those, Justin handles the everyday spinal and extremity work any general chiropractic practice sees — the stiff neck that will not turn, the low back that seized lifting something ordinary, the shoulder that has quietly stopped reaching overhead. Each link below opens the statewide write-up for that condition: what actually causes it, what an exam looks for, and when chiropractic is the wrong answer.

How Justin adjusts

“Chiropractic” is not one procedure. The methods below are the ones Justin is trained in, and the exam decides which of them you get. If a forceful adjustment is wrong for your age, your bone density, or an acutely inflamed joint, there is a low-force option that reaches the same joint a different way — you should be told which one you are getting and why before anyone touches you.

Diversified

The most widely taught hands-on adjustment in chiropractic, and the method most people picture when they think of seeing a chiropractor.

What it feels like: A quick, shallow thrust delivered by hand to a specific joint. You often hear a pop — that is gas releasing from the joint capsule, not bones cracking — and the whole contact lasts a fraction of a second.

Used for: Restoring motion to a spinal or extremity joint that has stopped moving through its normal range. It is the default starting point for most low back, mid back, and neck complaints.

Personal Injury Protocols

A documented examination and reporting standard for auto-accident and work-injury cases.

What it feels like: A longer first visit. Range of motion is measured rather than eyeballed, findings are recorded in the format attorneys and adjusters require, and re-exams are scheduled at set intervals.

Used for: Anyone hurt in a crash or on the job, where the record of injury matters as much as the treatment itself.

Spinal MRI Interpretation

Post-doctoral training in reading advanced spinal imaging rather than relying solely on the radiology summary.

What it feels like: Nothing on the table — this is chart work. It means your doctor can point at the actual film and show you what is happening at a given level.

Used for: Disc injuries, post-accident cases, and any situation where imaging findings need to be matched against what the exam actually shows before a care plan is written.
